Genetic Dating

I've just finished my rather unsuccessful date. My own fault for going on a non-regulated meeting. My date watch told me we'd only be friends but you always want to think that you’re not that predictable.

A government review board, instigated at research showing happiness only really came from finding a good partner about five years ago, found that there were about 850 different types of people you could meet. Of which only about 20 would be your life-partner material.

It was a little difficult to accept at first, but the more of my friends who swear by it, the more convinced I'm starting to become that it's the way to go. If you don't have a green light from the department of dating, it's almost not worth suggesting coffee.

My dad says it was better in his day. Just going up to anyone you fancied and saying hello. But then you waste months of your life with someone finding out whether you're suited only to find in most cases there is something that just doesn't click, and no one wants to settle for a near match anymore. With the baby rationing, we can't do that now. If you are not compatible, not just on the interest level, but on the genetic level as well, you may not even get a license to come off birth control.

There are just too many people out to choose from. At least with this, if I pass Miss Right in the street I know it.
